TORONTO, ON — The Vocal Groove Collective (VGC), a Toronto-based electronic music collective known for its high-energy performances and original productions, unveils “Tender Storms,” an emotionally rich and cinematic EDM ballad featuring vocalist Chyrell Samson (Ronquillo). The track is part of the upcoming VGC: PULSE album, showcasing a more intimate and expressive dimension of the collective’s evolving sound.
Blending atmospheric electronic production with heartfelt melodic storytelling, “Tender Storms” explores the quiet intensity of emotion beneath strength — capturing moments of vulnerability, reflection, and inner resilience. At the center of the song is Chyrell Samson, a seasoned and internationally experienced performer whose career spans music, theatre, film, and live concert stages across North America and beyond.
Samson’s musical journey includes opening performances for major Filipino artists and international acts, as well as sharing the stage with legendary Canadian rapper Maestro Fresh Wes. She has performed in front of massive audiences at world-renowned venues including the MGM Grand Garden Arena and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, as well as the Cleveland Public Auditorium, demonstrating her ability to command large-scale stages with confidence and presence.
Her background in musical theatre includes productions such as Miss Saigon and Ragtime, where she developed her foundation in vocal performance and storytelling. She has also achieved major success in vocal competitions, earning top honors in prestigious contests including Tuklas, further establishing her reputation as a standout talent early in her career.
Beyond the stage, Samson has recorded music internationally, including contributions to children’s albums distributed across Europe, with accompanying videos reaching over one million views. Her work as a recording artist dates back to the early 2000s, when she released her solo album produced by Rodney Ronquillo, marking the beginning of a long-standing creative partnership that has since evolved into both a professional and personal collaboration.
In addition to her music career, Samson has expanded into film and media, including a role in the Netflix production “Islands,” further showcasing her versatility as a performer across multiple disciplines.
Throughout her career, she has worked alongside and shared the stage with renowned artists such as Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, Vice Ganda, Nonoy Zuniga, David Pomeranz, and YouTube sensation Morissette Amon, reflecting a career built on collaboration, versatility, and sustained performance excellence.
